I would like to begin our part of the exchange with a study of the ecosystems of the two areas: a study of the prairie/grassland/savannah biome for chicago, and the rainforest/coastal equatorial basin biome for brasil. Once each study is made, i would like to compare each biome. Finally, I hope to see how each ecosystem effects and is affected by cultural markers, both contemporary and historical, examples being how nature is reflected in art, how traditional indigenous music is refected in modern music, how traditional dance is reflective of nature and reflected in modern dance, etc. I invite other teachers and students in Chicago and Salvador to share in this investigation.
