Begin by bringing the "tool palette" into view by using the "View" option on the top menu.

  1. Click on "View".
  2. Click on "Toolbars".
  3. The Toolbar dialog box will appear.
  4. Put a check in the Tool Palette box at the bottom. This will bring a toolbar into view, exactly like the one shown to the left here.

(The authors recommend you keep all toolbars visible, except the histogram toolbar.)

If this icon is already visible, but the toolbar palette is not, you may click on this icon and the toolbar palette will come into view.
