This site has something of interest for everyone, from science, music, art, math, space etc. Bonnie's Fun Things to Do on the Computer - A Mom has compiled this huge list of kids' pages for her 6 year old daughter, Bonnie. You'll find games, stories, coloring pages, arts and crafts, holiday fun, fun with words and pictures, and fun things to do when you are not on the computer. Most of the links are internal links that will take you directly to a game, story, and so on, instead of to a homepage. This allows young children to start activities easily rather than becoming frustrated trying to find it on a site. Bonus. Com, the Supersite for Kids- You'll find hundreds of reviews of quality sites for kids throughout. Site has a special "kid-friendly" browser called NetScooter. Crayola Crayons- This is a fun site that describes facts about how crayolas are made plus lots of activities and projects for children. Walt Disney- If your kids have Dalmatian fever, they might enjoy reading the collection of storybooks based on 101 Dalmatians. Exploratorium- A wonderful virtual museum where students can explore science, art, human perception and over 500 interactive exhibits. Exploring Ancient World Cultures- This site is an interactive link to special exhibits, virtual centers of study, interactive resources and other sites relevant to the ancient world. (Ancient Medicine, Glass throughout History, The History of Plumbing, etc) Fido- Fun, educational and family-safe links are reviewed and arranged by topic. FunBrain- Educational wesite for kids of all ages. Arranged by age catagories. Headbone Zone- Great site for teaching wstudents to do web searches. Howard's Links 4 Kids- Howard lists lots of kid-friendly links in alphabetical order and features a site-of -the- week. Howard's Links 4 Kids is profiled in the 1997 Canadian Internet Handbook. Kidlink- This website is sponsored by a non-profit organization aimed at getting youths through age 15 involved in global dialog. Kids Korner- Interesting site for kids of all ages. Kids on the Web- This is a good list of sites where kids can play on the Internet, and where grown-ups will find information related to the care and education of children. Kids Web-A World Wide Web Digital Library for Schoolkids- Sites all over the world listed by categories of interest: Sciences, Arts, Social Studies, Miscellaneous, etc. Little Explorers- The best part of this site is its simplicity. Just click on an icon which leads you to numerous on-line activities. Media Bridge Gamekids- Here's a small but nice collection of traditional (i.e. non-computer) games from around the world. There are also recipes based on classic children's literature, such as The Three Bears and a recipe for a gingerbread man. National Geographic- Help pick the cover for the next issue, look at an interesting feature article, check out projects in the works or take geography quizzes in the GeoBee game. NASA- This site has numerous links to many of NASA's space projects and missions. Keep up to date on what's happening up in space. Not Just for Kids!- Links are arranged by topic and the author includes description for each kid's link. Text and graphic friendly. OWL Kids Online- You can find plenty of interesting nature material from the editors of Canada's colorful OWL magazine. Like the magazine this site contains craft idea and art gallery of children's pictures and answers to questions such as "Why do frogs jump?" Virtual Frog Dissection Kit- Interactive frog dissection project. Includes a game that lets you identify the different parts of a frog. Web66: A K-12 World Wide Web Project- A highway linking students to many areas of interest along Rt. 66. Meet the people and pick up facts about the locations being visited. The White House- This site is among the most frequently visited on the Web. Take a tour of the White House, hosted by sox the cat and learn about the President Vice President and their families. World Safari- Each month, a new country is featured along with activities and fun facts. The best part of this site is reading the messages left by different children from all over the world. www4kids.org- A weekly feature published in newspapers all over North America. It is designed for kids to find fun, educational and safe spots to visit on the World Wide Web Yahooligans- Yahoo! has launched Yahooligans, a searchable and browsable directory of the Internet designed specifically for 8 to 14 year olds.
