Teacher Leadership Conference a Hit

Mary Burns, from Fisk Elementary, attended the Drawing Meaning: From Mapping the Similes in Cisneros to Writing Your Own. She found useful ways to guide students in their writing. View a part of the workshop.
Willie Ellis, from Dumas Elementary, gives a thumbs up for the conference. He attended The Man Who Counted, and learned about lessons that integrate math and art.  
Patsy Moore, from McCosh Elementary, attended Getting the Most Out of Your "GrowNet Report", a workshop that helps teachers understand how to use data to drive effective teaching & learning.
 
Melinda Morrissey, the conference coordinator said, "This year the team working on the conference really came together and it showed ...in the substance of the conference."  
The conference isn’t just for teachers. This is truly a community event.
Parents are welcome and attend along with the teachers.
