Sonia Nazario's account of Enrique's turbulent journey from Honduras to the United States and all of his life-threatening encounters provokes her readers to explore beyond the surface of immigration reform. Through a variety of writing exercises, group discussion exercises and various forms of artistic expression, teachers will be able to help students retell immigrant stories. (8th grade and up)
