Vision & Mission

It is our mission to ensure that all students will routinely reach a level of achievement commensurate with their abilities.  Kozminski will provide each of its students with a highly structured, demanding and rigorous curriculum that will challenge them and require the full effort of all stakeholders.
 
 
 
 


Where We Are and Who We Are

Kozminski Community Academy is located on the south side of Chicago (5400 South, 900 East) in the racially and economically diverse Hyde Park community. The school is located in a park setting with the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry nearby.  Kozminski serves approximately 550 students from Pre-Kindergarten through the 8th grade. The school is an Options for Knowledge school with 30% of its students bused. The student population is 99.8% African-American.   87% of our students are low-income with 86.5% receiving free or reduced lunch.  The school has an attendance rate of 94.9%.  Kozminski has a mobility rate of 12.4%, an expulsion rate of 0%, and a dropout rate of 0%.
