General reference sites  are meant to keep teachers from having to do Internet searches.  They usually arrange material by subject matter and/or grade level.  Every teacher should feel comfortable with one of them.

Blue Web'n (http://www.kn.pacbell.com/wired/bluewebn/)  An extremely useful site, having well-annotated lists of lesson plans projects, references, resources and tools.  Teachers may join the BlueWeb list serve and get weekly up-dates.

GEM:  Gateway to Educational Materials  (http://www.thegateway.org/) A huge, well-annotated and searchable index to curriculum materials on the web.  This is the best thing of its kind.

Kathy Schrock’s Guide For Educators (http://www.capecod.net/schrockguide/index.htm).  An outstandingly well organized accumulation of sites.  For all grade levels.
