Why Keyboarding is neccessary...

    This Keyboarding Unit was created as a vehicle to facilitate learning how to properly keyboard.  It is imperative that the student becomes competent in the use of computers for keyboarding as well as other purposes in order to develop essential life  and workplace skillls.  It is also important that the student have a knowledge of keyboarding in order to better participate in educational activities and experiences throughout all curricular areas.

    Keyboarding can be used to increase communication skills through email and word processing.  Cross curricular projects that require  the student to keyboard to complete assignments are being integrated into the curriculum on a regular basis. Learning to keyboard properly will help to improve  the student's productivity in all areas. It is also believed that learning to keyboard properly will help better qualify the student for work entry in high demand jobs as well as possess knowledge and skill required for advanced education and personal life skills.

    The activities at this site will help the student do the above mentioned things while using the Internet.
