Site Search A site search allows a searcher to control what sites are included or excluded from a search. A searcher who wanted to see only pages from a particular site could give a command and the search engine tool would only display pages that are indexed at a particular site. Further, the command could be more specific thereby only displaying pages at that site which contain certain words. Also, if the searcher wanted to exclude a particular site the searcher could use an exclude command so that pages from the site are not displayed. Example of command to display only pages from a particular site:
Example of command to display only pages from a particular site that mention wit 2000
Commands can also be combined with other commands. host:cuip.uchicago.edu - "wit 2000" This example would display only pages from the cuip.uchicago.edu site that do not mention wit 2000 together. A command can also be used to exclude pages from a particular site.
Further, a searcher could use other combinations of commands. The searcher could use the Plus or Minus commands to exclude or include sites from particular domains.
