Zeta HomeroomJuly 10, 2000Location: Regenstein 153Time: 1:00 - 5:00 Section: WIT Basic Mentors: Bill Geraci & Russ Revzan You should have already bookmarked the WIT Home Pageso that you never have to type http://cuip.uchicago.edu/wit/2000 again! From the WIT Home Page, you can get to almost any other WIT web page you require, with a click or two. If you have not bookmarked this page, do so. If you need help, ask Bill or Russ. You should also bookmark any pages you think you may need to return to again and again. Bookmarks save a great deal of time and energy. Please look at the Site of the Day and make sure to check your e-mail! You should have a message from Russ
about the results of your scavenger hunt from Friday. If you completed
the assignment, congratulations. If not, make sure you do so today
and e-mail the results to Bill
and Russ.
Remember, clicking the mouse on Bill and Russ, will open an already addressed Netscape Composition Window, if your Netscape Profile is set up correctly, in which you can send Bill and Russ an e-mail. If you need help making sure your profile is correct, ask Bill or Russ. Remember also, there are usually
links on a web page that will take you to other web pages. These
links are most likely identified by the underlined words and the mouse
pointer looking like a hand, when pointing at a link. ( Take the quiz in the Introduction to Navigator module. It is called Quiz on Basics. Today you should study the module Curriculum Terms and Concepts. This module will prepare you to write a teaching guide for your web lesson plan. There is also an important guide which describes the essential components of the web-based lesson plan you will produce in WIT Basic. It is called Creating your WIT Lesson Plan. We will continue to work on web pages today. New pictures are posted at the Zeta Participants Pictures Page. If you need to have your picture taken, or another picture taken, let Russ know. Any questions not answered in class can be directed to
Bill
and Russ.
