GLOSSARY

• beach  -  The sloping shore of a body of water, especially a sandy or pebbly shore.
• carousel  -  a merry-go-round
• direction  -  The line along which something moves or the point toward which it faces. South, east,
•                     and down are directions.
• distance  -  The extent of space between two points: to walk a distance of three miles.
• exhibit  -  To display or show publicly: put on view: to exhibit art.
• fountain - A jet of water thrown into the air from a pipe and caught in a basin. for ornament or
•                  drinking.
• lake  -  A body of fresh or salt water enclosed by land.
• location  -  A place or site: a good location for a camp.
• map  -  A drawing or representation, usually on a flat surface, of any region, as a country, city, etc.
• museum  -  A place for keeping and exhibiting works of nature and art, scientific objects,
•                    curiosities, etc.
• skyscraper  -  A very building.
• tour   -  A trip during which one visits a number of places for pleasure.
