 For this activity, you will need a hard boiled egg and a marker.

Have an adult cut the egg in half.  Mark the center of the yolk with a dot.  The shell is like the crust of the earth; the white is like the mantle; the yolk is like the core; and the dot you made is like the inner core.
This is an image of what the Earth would look like if we could cut a section out.  do you see how it is like an egg?

Now push on the egg shell.  The Earth's crust is full of cracks.  Move the shell around a little.  This is a little like what the "plates" of the Earth do when they move and push against each other.
