Objectives

Students should:

• Test their reading comprehension and web searching skills
• Develop cooperative learning skills
• Begin to gather and synthesize information about Vernon Jarrett to determine why he is a key figure in African-American history and the history of Chicago
• Begin to understand the role of the Black press in the history of African-Americans
