Sound and video files use a lot of memory and may require downloading plug-ins in order to view or hear the files. Examples of sound file :

  • WAV <.wav>
  • MIDI <.mid>
  • MP3 <mpeg_audio3>
  • AU <.au>
  • AIFF <.aiff>
  • MOV <.mov>
  • RAM/RM <.ram/.rm>

Most computers have a Sound Recorder, which is usually located in the Accessories section under Entertainment. If your computer has a microphone you can record your own sounds. See practice page.

Many digital video cameras are equipped with cables to connect to your computer and allow you to edit and save as movie files.

This is a link to a Resource page which contains links to sites where you can download sounds and movies.
