Summary: Making a Template

To summarize what we were doing in the template making demonstration:  we suggested that you create a template file, name it "template.html", and then save it.

The template should be designed so it will have basic titles, tables, and images. There are also links to all the other pages associated with your project.

The template can be used to create all the other pages in your project by simply being saved with the necessary file names.

We made page files for teacher, curriculum & standards, expectations, parent suggestions, links, and classroom.  Since the original template had links to all the pages, the new files also have all the links to all the pages.

A map of your project may look like the image below, which shows a welcome page connected to a set of all the other pages. When we start, all the pages are exactly the same...they were all created by using a "Save as" command.

Since all pages have the same links, a viewer can be on any page in the site, and still go to any other page.

If we designed our template well, all we will need to do is insert the appropriate information onto each page, and then we will be finished with our homepage project.  Below is link to an example of what a template may look like.  Yours may be different. As long as it fits your needs and meets the requirements, it will be acceptable.
