Step by Step: Inserting a link

Note:  You can type in the location for a link, but it is not recommended because it leads to frequent typos and links that don't work.  The following steps are for the "cut and paste" location method.

1.  Go to or open the page you want to make a link "to" in Netscape Navigator.
2.  Copy the url by inserting your cursor at the beginning of the address and highlighting  it.  (Make sure you get it all!) With url highlighted, go to edit/copy.
3.  Go to or open the page that you want to link "from" (the page that will have the link).
4.  Highlight the text that will be your link (after the link is established the text will be blue and underlined)
5. Go to insert/link or the insert link icon (looks like a chain link). This will open a dialogue box.
6. In the dialogue box, paste the url of your link  by doing the following

7. Click okay.
8. Check your link by saving your composer file and publishing.  Then view your page in Navigator and click on your link to make sure it works and sends you where you want to go.
