Create Your Personal Bookmark File

Directions for Windows : To save your bookmark file to a desktop folder, and/or a floppy disk, follow the listed steps. For detailed step by step instructions, with pictures, click on the indicated links in each step.

Step One: Make a folder on your desktop.

Step 2: Open Navigator, click on "Bookmarks", and in the menu that opens, click "Edit Bookmarks". This opens the bookmark file for editing.

Step 3: In the edit bookmark window, click on "file" at the top, then click on "Save as.."

Step 4: Give this Bookmark file a new name.

Step 5: Use the "Save in..." box at the top of the window to find the Bookmarks folder that you created in step one. (You may choose to type C:\windows\desktop\bookmarks in the "Save in: box.)

Step 6. With Bookmarks as the folder to "Save in:" and your file name in the "File name:" box, click save to save your file in your folder.

Step 7. When you want to use your personal bookmark file,

A. Go to "Bookmarks", and choose "Edit Bookmarks".

B. In the file menu, click "Open Bookmarks File".

C. Find your Bookmarks folder in the "Open Bookmarks File" window

D. Find and open your own file.

Step 8. To save your file to your floppy disk, right click on your folder, click on Send To, and then click on 3 1/2 Floppy (A)
