Tutorial #3 Adding A Sound File Link

Another way to add sounds and music to your Web pages is to add a link to the sound file that will play the sound or song in a media player or in your browser window. Adding a link gives some control to your visitors and will keep them from becoming aggravated by a looping sound that never ends.

Here is the tag that links a sound file to a Web page

<a href="cruisin.htm"> cruisin.htm</a>

To link to a sound file:

  1. Open the tutorial file "cruisin.htm" in Dreamweaver.
  2. In the table, replace the insert your text here with Music on the Web
  3. Select the text and add a link to the file "cruisin.mid"
  4. Save the page as Cruise.htm
  5. Preview in your browser

You can now proceed to Tutorial 4
