Helpful resources

The Dreamweaver CD you received as part of your WIT registration packet contains:

  • The complete Using Dreamweaver manual. (use Help|Using Dreamweaver)
  • An HTML reference book (use Help|Reference)
  • A set of tutorials (use Help|Tutorials; also described in the Getting Started with Dreamweaver MX book)

In addition, you can get help or answer specific questions using the Macromedia Dreamweaver site, which has excellent resources, including:

  • Help tools from the commands menu to Search, use Tutorials and browse the Index from the Dreamweaver workspace
  • The Answers panel for quick access to information
  • Dreamweaver support center, which contains lots of information, including Technotes that describe solutions to common problems
  • A news forum which allows Macromedia users to ask questions of the group and exchange information about features. (You'll need Outlook or Netscape News or another news reader to participate.)
  • A showcase of sites displaying excellent design using Dreamweaver and other Macromedia products with brief comments on how the products were utilized in the site development.
  • You'll often find great resources just using a search engine to search for Dreamweaver and other words describing your problem.

Use Google.com to search the web for information about your topic. Try putting 'Dreamweaver MX' in the search string along with words describing your topic.

Be ready to "report out" on your findings to the larger group, or use the homeroom listserve to send your findings.
