Types of Educational Sites

There are a vast number of educational sites on the Internet that can be categorized into seven types of applications, according to John March. The categories are enrichments, lessons, tools, references, resources, projects and activities. Click here to read about the distinctions he makes between these sites. One or two categories may suit a current need you have. Break into groups of three to four, select two categories and brainstorm ways in which the sites could be used for teaching.
