About the Web Tank

The "web tank" is a database containing information relevant to the development of web-based curriculum. You'll find information about curriculum development, web design, use of computers in education, software, graphics, various technologies, and examples of web-based curriculum.

The records in the database are called "webbits," meaning "bits of web." Most records contain links to web pages where you can get more information about the topic. You can either browse the Web Tank (moving sequentially from record to record looking for what you want) or you can search the Tank. (Keep in mind that the records are not in any logical order, but are placed in the tank randomly. Therefore when you browse you'll move around from topic to topic.)

The most efficient way to search is to use "keywords" that have been assigned based on the central idea contained in each webbit. You can also search by author, title(s), publisher, citation, or text. The "text" search is the most comprehensive and will result in the most "hits." But because a text search searches everything in the database, you may also get "hits" which are less valuable than if you search by keyword.
