GOALS:
By the end of today, we want everyone to feel comfortable with the task of making, uploading (publish), and editing a web page.

SCHEDULE:
(1)  Set Preferences in Netscape Communicator for your mail:

(2)  Please return to your teams to complete the following assignment:
You are to make a home page for your team.  This exercise is to enhance our web skills.  Do not worry so much about the content of the page (not today, anyway).  Your goal is to make a page and to publish it.  Each member may (should) publish the page to his/her account for practice.  This is a practice page.  You may delete (or overwrite) it later. Your page must contain the following items:
 

  • at least one image, and that image must link to another (appropriate) page.
  • at least three additional links.
  • text of varying sizes, color, and style (bold versus underline).
  • a background color (besides the default color).
  • a table (see if you can figure out how to do it!).  Look HERE for help.

    Recall the graphic links posted in the notes for July 1:

    Remember, when you find a graphic you want to use, take the mouse and hold on the graphic until a menu opens.  Choose SAVE THIS IMAGE AS...  And, remember to save the image to the DESKTOP (it will be easier to find later!).
     

    (3)  Visit Site-Of-Day links with Clovis Bordeauz and Robin Brown.
     

    (4)  Time permitting:  Start making a personal home page.  Try to include the requirements listed above.
     

    (5)  For the last 30 minutes of class today, we would like everyone to return to their groups to discuss the curriculum aspects of their module.  Try mapping your ideas on paper (it helps!).  Look HERE to review a discussion of curriculum web components.
