PLEASE NOTE:We are trying to find more information about endorsement credit for you.  If you are interested in receiving endorsement credit, please see John or Sheila by the end of class Thusday.

SCHEDULE:

(1)  Set Preferences in Netscape Communicator:
http://cuip.uchicago.edu/wit/99/mentors/Zumpano/mailto.htm.
 

(2)  Verify participant accounts (usernames and passwords) on WIT server are functional.  We will use a program called Telnet to log into accounts.  We also will locate the URL of participant accounts (even though no files are in the account yet!).
 

(3)  Discuss curriculum webs.
 

(4)  Practice Computer Basics (if necessary).  Some participants may need to spend more time in this site, while others may wish to move ahead.
 

(5)  Introduce Netscape Composer as a means in making web pages.
 

(6)  Make a personal home page (or at least start with a personal profile).  For example,

                    Welcome to [your name] Home Page!
                    Write about you.
                    Write about your school.
                    Write about your teaching experience.
                    Write about your students.

(7)  Publish the file!  Go to the File menu, then Publish.  Complete the information below (use lowercase letters for your username).
