STUDENT ACTIVITIES
Activities:

Students will take a
Pre-Test on cultural aspects and economic issues of Hispanic countries.

Students will initially begin their
journey by searching the Web for a definition
of
the word "culture" and "economics".See
Resources
on Students' Corner page.

Next, the students will search the
Internet resources to find information related to facts about a country
they have chosen.
-
Students will produce a hard copy
of a map of their country to be used to relate geographic information.
-
Next, students will find information
on the Web concerning a particular role that they will play on their
journey to the particular country.
-
Students, then, will use the information
found in the role they have chosen to indicate cultural and social factors
about the people of their country.
-
Next, students will use the information
about their role to indicate particular economic issues of their country.
-
Students will indicate ,from their research,
correlation's between cultural factors and economic issues.
-
Suudents will be asked to evaluate the
value of the particular Sites that were used in their projects as to their
usefulness in providing necessary information and further resources.
-
As a final stage, students will present
their findings to their classmates in the form of an oral presentation
using PowerPoint, graphics, role-playing, video, or any other media form.
A written essay will accompany this presentation.

Student teams will prepare a Written Examination
for their peers based on the findings of their projects.

Student teams and
Teacher may wish to create a Web Page relating their findings to all.

Student teams may
wish to set up E-mail connections or Virtual Classroom hook-ups with Chat-rooms
to communicate and authenticate their findings with students from the particular
country selected.
