Instruction
Information literacy can be integrated into a wide variety of classroom activities. There are three sample collaborative units of instruction that can be adapted to any classroom, in a specific curriculum area, or integrated into a thematic unit.
Why  Information  Literacy  The concept of literacy includes computer literacy, consumer literacy, information literacy, and visual literacy. In other words, literate adults must be able to gather and        understand information on a variety of subjects through a number of different modes. Through it all, understanding is the key. Literacy means being able to understand new ideas well enough to use them when needed. Literacy means knowing how to learn.
Information Literacy Model The information literacy model elaborates on identifying a need or problem, seeks applicable resources, gather information, analylzes information, interprets and synthesizes information, communicates information, and evaluates process and product.
Organized Investigage Model Circular model that formulates and shapes an inquiry, maps and navigates the space, etc.
Developmental BenchMarks Information literacy information for benchmarks includes student characteristics, types of information sources, help and guidances for beginners, intermediate, and advance students.

Distance Learning An on-air instructor, along with visiting scientists and other guests, introduces major science topics and concepts in three weekly 20-minute telecasts. Field video packages,    graphics, animation, and other specialized television techniques known to engage student interest are used along with an outstanding variety of resources, from the        camera-fitted microscope to laser disc technology. This variety provides students with experiences that go beyond the scope of even the best-equipped classrooms. Students    also gain exposure to many careers related to science and technology.
