to get a basic understanding of the Prohibition movement and the 18th amendment.

Look through the six different prohibition cartoons.
As you look through the cartoons, think about how they are portraying prohibition
and the effects of alcohol on life and families during the 1920's.
Choose three cartoons and write a brief summary of what you think the message
is that each cartoon is trying to portray. Also consider who you think
the intended audience might be, along with why you think the carttons were
created. After analyzing the three different cartoons, draw a prohibition
cartoon or advertisement of you own, making sure to label different parts
of you sork so that the message is clear to those who read it. Click

Work with a partner on the New Age Prohibition Project.
You and your partner are to determine something that should be prohibited
at school, such as chewing gum or talking in the hallway. Your job
is to write up a law outlawing the problem agter first establishing why
it is a problem that needs to be adressed. Once you have written
you law, you will draw up appropriate punishments for those who break the
law, as well as develp ways in which your new law will be enforced.
Include all of you information on a poster to share with the rest of the
