During the 60s there were two schools of thought on U.S. involvement in the Vietnam War; some felt the U.S. should be involved in order to stop the spread of Communism, and some felt that the U.S. should not interfere with the internal matters in East Asia.

DIRECTIONS:   Complete all of the projects below.
 

• Read some letters  written to and from Vietnam Veterans and their families and friends.(Links to letters are below in chart) From the Social Science Center, select and complete a questionnaire. Click here for questionnaire.
• Read about the anti -Vietnam War demonstrations and protests.  Answer the Comprehension Questions at the end of the article (1-4).

        We will discuss both assignments after everyone has completed them.

        EXTRA CREDIT:

• You are a reporter for TV station MLA.  Video tape  an interview with family members who were in the military or who demonstrated against the war during the sixties. Prepare an introduction and closing commentary.
