Evaluations
During the staff development project on using the Internet in the curriculum were the following objectives completed?
- Are you able to use an internet browser, such as Netscape, to visit web sites through the use of links and URLs?
- Do you understand the difference between the two main categories of search engines, directories and robots?
- Do you understand the difference between simple and advanced level searches of the Internet using a search engine?
- Are you able to successfully conduct a search of the Web using a search engine, such as Alta Vista, using one or more of the binary operators AND, OR, NEAR, and/or the unary operator NOT to combine words and/or phrases in an advanced level search?
- Are you able to send, read, and reply to e-mail using an e-mail program such as Eudora?
- Do you understand the purpose of a listserv, how to subscribe and unsubscribe, and are you familiar with the focus of some educational listservs?
- Can you locate at least one site on the Internet for each of the following:
- a source of useful lesson plans
- a list of links to educational resources
- a museum or government agency
- an interactive online educational activity
