Rationale

• Providing teachers with the experience and skills to successfully conduct research on the Internet using search engines. These skills would be useful to teachers in locating background information for existing curriculum modules, designing new modules, and assisting students in developing their own research skills.
• Giving teachers the opportunity to utilize e-mail to correspond with experts and other individuals in various fields, to request information and subscribe to listserves of interest to them or their students.
• Familiarizing teachers with the wide variety of resources available online including interactive projects, lesson plans, and remote institutions such as museums, libraries, and governmental agencies.
