Water is another very important non-living natural resource. Without water living things would not exist. Living things came from water. When life started on the Earth, the first living things were tiny jelly-like blobs. These were called amoebas. They absorbed the Sun’s life-giving energy and soon started to reproduce. That means they were able to make more amoebas just like themselves.
