Time Management
Time:  Two to seven weeks of student time, 3 or 4 class periods
Materials needed:  computer and internet access, pencil, paper, school calendar
Assessment: Students will complete class assignments in a timely manner
	Students will demonstrate increased efficiency in time use in class
  Students will have a concrete method of keeping track of their schedules and responsibilities
Hints or tips:  The teacher should plan on two class periods the first week this unit is introduced.  The first day could be spent on exploring the site on the web and in discussing the expectations.  The second day would be spent on evaluation and feedback on progress.  Computer time could be used on the second day.  The second week only one part of a class period could be used for the evaluation and next step.  A teacher could choose to end the program at this stage, or to continue it by projecting what the later part of the year would be like.  Rather than predicting, a teacher could also choose to pick up this unit again,for example at the end of the quarter or beginning of a semester.  

Communication
Time:  One week total to be reviewed or adapted as needed
Materials:  none needed
Assessment:  Students will use appropriate language when addressing teachers or other students.  This could be evaluated with a checklist, behavior contract, peer observation or self monitoring process.  
Hints or tips:  This could be part of a behavior modification program.  At any time a student or teacher notices a lapse in language behavior, the discussion could be centered around other ways to say things either verbally or with body language.  This section could be linked to social studies when discussing cultures, linked to performing arts when doing character studies, language arts when writing descriptive passages or dialogues.  Adaptations could be made for students with different disabilities, such as hearing impaired - using ASL, visual impairments, learning disabilities or behavior disorders.
