Introduction:
Aim:
This lesson is designed to encourage the use of technology
to investigate various author's and their literature.
Rationale:
The students would be able to read and evaluate various
author's works.They would form opinions relavant to understanding the author's
motivation and reason for writing . They would also be better prepared
for literature based programs used at higher levels of education.
Goals and Objectives:
1.To understand or didtinguish the literal and nonliteral
meaning of the text.
2.To identify the author's purpose for writing the selection.
3.To solidify meaning and understanding by inquiring.
4.To determine the main idea of the selection.
5.To generate alternative endings or elements to the
selection.
6.Identify and describe ways in which works of literature
reflect culture,heritage,tradition, and/or historical perspectives of authors.
7. Recognize the influence of the author's life and personal
experences affect their writing.
Audience and Prerequisites:
6th-8th graders who are studing or will soon study,in
depth, literary works of various authors. Also students who are involved
in a literature based reading program.
