Aim

This plan seeks to identify and reinforce positive  personal development  through  literature writings and interpretation in the intermediate grades.

Rationale

Students need to to be abl e to relate to each other  in positive and supportive roles if they are to work cooperatively and productively.  Written expression encourages refinement  of  and aware-
ness of effective communication skills.  Using literature  as a framework   encourages  practice
with  limited risk.

Goals and Objectives

Students will learn to manage their own behavior  by:focusing on assigned tasks, setting short term goals and long term goals,working independently, working  in  pairs, small groups andlarge groups  through written compositions, speeches,art inerpretations and musical performances.
