Implementing Your WebQuest in the Classroom
Points to Consider Prior to Implementing your WebQuest
-
What is your access to technology?
-
What is the ratio of students to computers?
-
Do your students have computers/internet access at home?
-
Do your students have general knowledge of computers/the
internet?
-
How much experience do your students have with using computers/the
internet at school?
-
Do your students currently have the technology skill level
to perform your WebQuest?
-
If your students do not have adequate skills, can you instruct
them in the skills they will need, or is there someone else you can bring
in to instruct them?
-
Where will your students perform the majority of your WebQuest?
-
How will you manage technical setbacks?
-
Do you have a procedure in place to respond to student requests
for help during the WebQuest?
Technology can be capricious. Have a back up plan in
place if:
-
You booked the lab, but you cannot get in for whatever reason
-
You have to share the lab with another class
-
You are in the lab with your entire class but the server
is down and you cannot access your WebQuest
-
Even though you recently checked your links, broken links
are encountered when the students try to get to them.
-
The time you booked is not sufficient for completion of the
WebQuest
