George’s Marvelous Medicine by Roald Dahl
This story is about a boy and his grandma.  In the beginning, the boy is left with his grandma.  The problem is the boy’s grandma is a witch.  The boy’s name is George.  He has to do something about his grandma so he decides to make an everything medicine.  The medicine made his grandma growl!  He made a 2nd medicine.  It made his grandma disappear.  Boom!  Problem solved!

My opinion is that it was silly because the characters are funny.  The story was also hilarious.  I highly recommend it.

Horrible Harry and the Christmas Surprise by Suzie Kline

The teacher was reading a story in her reading chair when it collapsed.  Now Mrs. Mackle is in the hospital.  The kids in 2B have a Christmas skit coming up.  At recess, Harry was chasing Song Lee and Aida and didn’t mean to kiss Song Lee on the cheek.  So Harry had to write a sorry note to Song Lee.  Aida had an idea to sing a song to Mrs. Mackel outside the hospital window.  If you want to find out more details, I would recommend that you should read the book.

I like this book because Harry kissed Song Lee on the cheek.

Miss Nelson Has A Field Day by Harry Allard and James Marshall
This is about the story of Miss Nelson and the football team.  The football team has never won a game for Horace B. School.  The football team is not serious about playing that much.  Then one day, the football coach cracked his back.  There was still football practice except there was a sub coach that was Coach Swamp.  Coach Swamp is really mean but the football team practiced harder than ever.  First she taught them how to tackle each other, they raised their legs like crazy, and they ran really fast.  After than, they actually played like they were a real team.  When the team had the game, they won!  After that, they went out for hotdogs.

I like this book.  This is one of the most terrific books I have ever read because the team
actually learns to play like a real team and it’s funny.

Stone Fox
Stone Fox is a story of a boy named Little Willy and his grandpa.  In the beginning the story tells about how Little Willy and his grandpa take care of the farm.  The problem is that grandpa falls ill.  So Little Willy enters a dog sled race because not a lot of people were buying the food from the farm and Little Willy and his grandpa had to pay the tax man.  So Little Willy goes to see Stone Fox’s dogs, but got caught.  Stone Fox slapped him in the eye.  The day of the race, Willy couldn’t see out of his left eye.  But in the end, Willy won the race.

I love this story.  I like when at the end Willy won.
