MY KIND OF TOWN
CHICAGO
THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE
WE ARE THE IMMIGRANTS
DOWNTOWN
SWEET HOME CHICAGO

MY KIND OF TOWN

My kind of town, Chicago is my kind of town, Chicago is,
My kind of people too, people who smile at you and
Each time I roam, Chicago is, calling me home, Chicago is,
One town that won't let you down, it's my kind of town.

This is my kind of town, Chicago is, my kind of town, Chicago is,
My kind of Razzmatazz, and it has, that there jazz, and
Each time I leave, Chicago is, tugging my sleeve, Chicago is,
The Wrigley Building, Chicago is, the windy city, Chicago is,
The Hancock Building, Chicago is, Comiskey Ball Park, Chicago is
One town that won't let you down, it's my kind of town.

CHICAGO

Chicago, Chicago, that toddlin' town, that toddlin' town.
Chicago, Chicago, I'll show you around, I love it.
Bet your bottom dollar you'll lose the blues in Chicago, Chicago.
The folks who visit want to settle down.

On State Street, that great street, I just want to say, I just want to say.
They do things they don't do on Broadway, say...
They have the time, the time of their life,
Bring all your kids, your friends, and your wife to
Chicago, Chicago, my hometown.

THE GREAT CHICAGO FIRE

One dark night, when we were all in bed.
Old Lady Leary lit a lantern in the shed.
Cow kicked it over, winked her eye and said.
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight...fire, fire, fire!

Let's go back to a very important date.  1871
October 8, when The Great Fire...
sealed Chicago's fate.
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight...fire, fire, fire.

Take a walk to old DeKoven Street.
As the town prepares to go to sleep.
Ms. O'Leary's cow turns up the heat.
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight...fire, fire, fire.

The fire raged for almost two whole days.
Four square miles ignited all ablaze.
One hundred thousand lives in disarray.
Yes, it's a hot time in the old town tonight...fire, fire, fire.

One dark night, when we were all in bed.
Old Lady Leary lit a lantern in the shed.
Cow kicked it over, winked her eye and said.
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight...fire, fire, fire!

WE ARE THE IMMIGRANTS

We come for many reasons, leaving families behind.
The future is a mystery, not knowing what we'll find.
Oppression, persecution, and economic strife
have brought us to Chicago to find a better life.

Here from the beginning and arriving ever since,
we make this city stronger.  We are the immigrants.

We are here Chicago, for better or for worse,
from many different continents, we're culturally diverse.
From near and far we travel, so many miles we roam,
With hope, we're here intending, to make Chicago home.

Here from the beginning and arriving ever since,
we make this city stronger.  We are the immigrants.

Immigration and migration can be filled with deep frustration,
because discrimination can ruin all our job.
We take this opportunity to build a strong community.
On faith, and love, and unity, Chicago, Illinois.

Life is never easy, we think what might have been.
We must retain our culture, at the same time fitting in.
But long ago, so loud and clear, we heard your siren's call...
Chicago with your promises of liberty for all.

Here from the beginning and arriving ever since,
we make this city stronger.  We are the immigrants.
Here from the beginning and arriving ever since,
we make this city stronger, stronger, stronger.
We are the immigrants.  We are the immigrants.

Downtown

When you're alone
and life is making you lonely
you can always go,
Downtown.
\When you've got worries
all the noise and the hurry
seems to help I know,
Downtown.
Just listen to the music
of the traffic in the city.
Linger on the sidewalk
where the neon signs are pretty.
How can you lose?
The lights are much brighter there,
you can forget all your troubles,
forget all your cares and go,
Downtown.
Things will be great when you're,
Downtown.
No finer place for sure,
Downtown.
Everythings waiting for you.
Downtown, downtown, downtown, downtown, downtown, downtown.

Sweet Home Chicago

So come on, baby don't you want to go?
So come on, baby don't you want to go?
To that same old place, sweet home Chicago.

So come on, baby don't you want to go?
So come on, baby don't you want to go?
To that same old place, sweet home Chicago.

2 and 2 is 4, 4 and 4 is 8, come on baby don't you hesitate.

So come on, baby don't you want to go?
To that same old place, sweet home Chicago.
To that same old place, sweet home Chicago.
To that same old place, sweet home Chicago.
