Dear Families,
Welcome to Prekindergarten at Ariel Community Academy!!! We are delighted to have your child in our class. My name is Edie Fabiyi; I am the Classroom Teacher. Sabrina Jones is the Instructional Assistant in the classroom.
School is about to begin, and we have planned fun, interesting and challenging experiences for your child. We hope to work closely with you in the classroom and appreciate your collaboration to ensure that the school year is a successful educational endeavor.
During the first days of school, children find it difficult to say good-by
to their parents in an environment of unfamiliar surroundings and people. Preschoolers
adjust best to new experiences when supported by those with whom they feel most
comfortable. Please plan to have an adult accompany your child to school until
the teacher feels your child is ready to remain in school without you. You may
bring the required registrations forms (birth certificate, physical examination
form and social security number) to school Sept. 3 and 4. When registration
is completed a start date will be given to you. Your child should bring the
following supplies to school:
· Backpack
· Change of clothing
· Photograph of your child with family
· Small blanket and pillow
· Two boxes of tissue
· Bottle of hand soap
On Saturday, September 8 at 12:00 p.m., a brief Parent Orientation will be held for all prekindergarten parents. This is a mandatory meeting, for parents only. You are also welcome to visit the classroom during the week of September 3 when we will be setting up. Feel free to call us at 773 535-1336 or 773 535-1996 if you have any questions.
