Activity for Games

You and your partner will make a game of your own.

You will need:
cardboard, paper, magazies (for pictures), brads, paper clips, dice (if you have them), crayons or markers, pop bootle lids or pennies for game pieces.

Getting started:
There are many types of games as you know.  For this assignment you will make a board game.  You can model your game after another game you know.
1.  Talk about the board games you know.  How are they played?
2.  Talk about what kind of game you will make.  Will you need dice, or a spinner, or cards to move the game along?
3.  Collect the materials you will need.
4  Try to draw your idea on scratch paper first.  Then put your idea on the cardboard.  Once you have the board make up some rules.
5.  You can make a spinner with construction paper, a brad, and a paper clip.

Try it out: Try the game with your partner.  Make sure you both understand the rules.

Show it off:  Ask some other kids and your teacher to try the game with you.
