Aim: To help inform students about Puerto Rico,
its citizens, and its relationship with the United States.
Rationale: To provide website locations that can
help to inform students about Puerto Rico, its citizens, and its history.
Goals and Objectives: To motivate students to link
up with informational websites that can help to properly inform them about
Puerto Rico while dispelling myths and misconceptions about Puerto Rico.

Audience: 6-7th graders
Prereguisites: Ability to read, and
to learn cooperatively how to utilize a computer while following directions
on the website or websites given.
Subject-Matter: Puerto Rican Folklore
Dance, History of Puerto Rico, and culture that enables the student to
understand the culture.
Instructional Plan:
1. Engage students in discussions about Puerto Rico, Puerto Ricans,
and it's
relationship to the United States.
2. Instruct students how to operate a computer and to locate
a url address on
the internet.
3. Explain the goals of the
assignment
a. To learn about the location of Puerto Rico
b. To learn about the culture of Puerto Ricans
c. To learn how to use a computer while engaged on the world wide
web (www) or internet.
d. To find and answer questions on a printed handout or
computerized quiz.
e. To learn how to e-mail the teacher.
f. To learn how to work cooperatively while engaged in seeking
information while utilizing a computer.
4. Provide a pretest and posttest (printed
handout) for assessment purposes.
Materials: A computer that is linked up to the
internet,a pencil, and a printed handout or the computer quiz.
Assessment and Evaluation: A pretest
on Puerto Rico and its culture and a
posttest.
