Language Arts

The Caldecott Medal Home Page. Read about the award books and their illustrators at the official site. This medal is awarded annually by the Association for Library Service to Children, a division of the American Library Association, to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children. http://www.ala.org/alsc/caldecott.html 

 Coretta Scott King Awards. Presented annually to an African American author and an African American illustrator for an outstandingly inspirational and educational contribution published during the previous year. http://www.ala.org/srrt/csking/

The Exploratorium. The science museum in San Francisco mounts electronic versions of hands-on exhibits like the science of baseball, buiding structures, and how to build a bubble bomb. http://www.exploratorium.edu/
