 Each member on a team will choose one of the following identities to         investigate: A) Negro Confederate Soldier
              B) Negro Union Soldier
              C) White Confederate Soldier
              D) White Union Soldier
Write a 5 day journal of the life of that soldier.
Pretend that you are living the life of one of the soldiers, during the 1860's.
Include the following in your journal entries:
     Aspects of the soldier's life (age; family background-marital status,
     children, siblings, parents, religion; life before the war, where you lived,
     your occupation, etc.).
     Why did you become a soldier?
     How has your life changed?
     Tell how the soldier felt about himself, about life, and being involved in
     the war.
     What will happen to you (and your family) if you win the war?...lose the
     war?
     What was a typical day like for the soldier?
     What battle(s) were you involved in?
     How were treated as a soldier?
     What were your duties as a soldier?
Be creative and add any other information that you find (including pictures and illustrations.)
