Reflections

Silhouettes dancing on the wall
My mind takes me back to when we were together
Back thru winter, spring, summer, and fall
Back when we stayed together no matter whatever
Yet somewhere along on the scheme of things
We lost that spark and we breached that trust
We forgot the joy that our love could bring
And started living separately instead of living for us

Who Am I?

body, numb
unfeeling
ears, deaf
unhearing
eyes, blind
unseeing
feet, walking
not advancing
hands, groping
not grasping
questions, asked
no answering
lungs, inhaling
not breathing
mind, working
not thinking
HOPE is fighting yet,
it's not living
             What is this place?
             This abyss of unemotion
                  is killing me softly
A kind word, A gentle hand-
           rescue me from reality, please.

No Easy Task

 Embarking on a secret mission
It's goal: to find myself
Loving yourself is hard, and
Even harder when no one else loves you
   Reaching inside and
Embracing what you find
With love and heartfelt joy
Instead of hate and contempt
Is like climbing Mount Everest
Most don't want to do it
Because it's too much work
Some try and it's in vain
Because few achieve it
And even sadder, some die trying
No, finding yourself and
Liking what you find is no
easy task

Pain

Like specks of ketchup on
  a white shirt
Bruises show up clearly
Whether bruises are internal
  or external
Depends solely upon the inflictor

Recommended Books
     fromTramaine

Title: Joy Luck Club
Author: Amy Tan
The Joy Luck Club is a story that follows two generations of four Chinese friends. I recommend highly for those of you who are fascinated with the mystique of the Orient.

Title: We'll Meet Again
Author: Mary Higgins Clark
This story centers around a young woman named Mary. Her husband, a prestigious doctor at a world-renowned hospital, has suddenly turned up dead. She's thrown into a web of deceit and is eventually imprisoned. Five years later and fresh out of jail, Mary's life begins to unravel as she gets closer to her husband's true killer who may now be after her.

Title: Things Fall Apart
Author: Chinua Achebe
This story follows one man's journey through his clan as he watches his entire life shatter before his very eyes. I recommend this book to realists who aren't afraid to learn a little bit about history.

Title: Oliver Twist
Author: Charles Dickens
This story is set in the 1800's and it follows the adventures and hardships of a small orphan boy who has been seemingly thrown to the wind.

Title: Left Behind
Author: Tim LaHaye
              Jerry B. Jenkins
This book talks about the people who missed being taken to heaven after the Second Coming. It particularly follows the story of one man's feelings of what to do after he realizes that he and his daughter have been left behind.

Personal Reflection of WW1

  WW1 Art Painting Resource

The reason I chose this picture is because it speaks to me about the brutality of war. It doesn't sugarcoat it in any way. By being a realist I can appreciate the raw bluntness of this portrait. I feel that this picture communicates all the hardships and trials that the soldiers and their families went through. You know the phrase that says,"A picture is worth a thousand words"? Well this picture is worth two thousand. Along with gory pictures of men lying dead, it also shows the gruesome finality of war.The picture shows two dead people lying on a piece of land with absolutely no forms of vegetation or life on it.

Hobbies
My hobby is singing, in the shower, in the mirror, in my room with the door closed, or wherever. Even though my family sometimes complains about the howling, I continue singing faithfully. Hip-hop is the love of my life. I am constantly listening to the radio for new songs and ideas because I also write my own songs.
