 Hobbies

My hobbies include playing volleyball, softball, basketball, writing, acting, reading, and baby-sitting. My major hobby is writing. I love to write stories and poems. Maybe one day I will write a play for the school drama club. My second major hobby is reading. I like to read different types of books. Some of my favorite books can be found in my recommended books section of this page. The next thing I love to do is babysitting. I don’t know why I love children, but I do. One day I hope to be a great pediatrician. My next hobby is acting. I am very talented in acting certain types of roles. Next year I will join the drama club. Even though I am not a good athlete, I still love playing. I think I am okay in volleyball so I hope to join  the volleyball team next year.

                          Happy On A Virgin's Island

This book is about how you can be a virgin and still be happy and have
friends. It is written by a fifteen year old girl. It also talks about
secondary virginity, too. I recommend this book for all teenagers and
                       young adults.

Della's House of Style

Della's House of Style is a hair salon for men and women.. There are
four authors, each with her own section of the book. Each author's
story  takes place around the salon. Each story is a romance about how
different people find love in Della's House of Style. I recommend this
                        to all who love romances.
Authors: Rochelle Alers, Donna Hill, Felicia Mason, Francis Ray

Just An Overnight Guest

Margie Carson is a little girl trying to find out why the baddest girl
in the neighborhood has to spend the night at her  house.  Not
only does the "baddest" girl spend the night, she wears Margie's
favorite  dress and steals Margie's daddy's love from her. I
recommend this  book to everyone who likes a little drama while they
                         read.

Let The Circle Be Unbroken

A sequel to Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry, this  novel is about  hard times
for the Logan  family. Their friend T.J. goes on trial  for a murder
before an all-white jury. Cousin Suzella comes and tries to pass for a white
girl and gets everyone else humiliated. The Logans' neighbor, Mrs. Annie,
stands  up for  her rights to vote and gets driven out of her home. I recommend
this  book to all who want to learn about the hardships African-Americans faced
          after slavery ended.

The Color Of  Culture

This book of poetry is about the African-American culture. The theme
of this book is, "Everybody has culture even though some folks think
they don't." I recommend this book to all people who think they have
culture and to those who think they don't.

                                       ART OF WORLD WAR ONE

The name of this picture is Sturmtruppe geht unter Gas vor which means Assault under Gas. It is a drawing by Otto Dix in 1924. It can be found in the Deutches Historisches Museum in Berlin.
When I look at this picture, I get a real feel of how it was to fight with a gas mask upon your face.  The picture looks very realistic because you can see the gas masks, and you can see the  struggle by the way the soldiers' hands are moved in the drawing.  This picture really gives me an idea of one of the many problems the soldiers had to go through during the war. This picture helps me to appreciate the soliders more.
