Title : Vittorio The Vampire
Author: Anne Rice
Check it out!  This book interested me because not only am I an Anne Rice fan but I am fascinated by vampires. This was a fantastic book about the life of a vampire and how he witnessed the massacre of his family by a band of demons. Vittorio (the vampire) flees from the scene and follows the fiends, but during the chase he falls for a woman named Ursula. If you like suspense and romance, you would definitely love this book.

Title : Mama
Author: Ruby Jean Jensen
Check it out! This book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat. It is about a porcelain doll who looks identical to a baby. After her owner leaves her all by herself in the attic and forgets about her, the doll becomes aggravated and decides to seek revenge.

Title : Hidden Child of the Holocaust
Author: Stacy Cretzmeyer
Check it out! The main reason I enjoyed this book is because it is a true story. It is about a girl named Ruth who has to change her identity due to the Holocaust. The book discusses the hardships she and her family had to endure, and it has a remarkable ending. This book is great for kids of all ages, and it differs from all the books I have been recommending because it is not scary or gruesome.

Title : Romeo and Juliet
Author: Shakespeare
Check it out! This play is a classic romance story and, in my opinion, one of the best plays Shakespeare ever wrote. It is about two households who are rivals. It shows how the act of forbidden love can bring tragedy, but yet can also open the eyes of those who are blind. I highly recommend reading this play, and, if you get a chance to see it live, don't pass up that opportunity.

Title : Queen of the Dammed
Author : Anne Rice
Check it out! Again this is a vampire story, but the difference is it's about a woman who uses her beauty to lure her victims. It is about a Akasha, "Queen of the Dammed" and mother of all vampires, who rises after a 6,000 year sleep and makes a plan to "save" mankind from itself and to make "all the myths of the world real." I definitely think this was one of Anne Rice's best novels.

                                                 Title: A Street in Arras
The reason I picked this painting is because not too many people focus on the aftermath of the war. Many people tend to see war as heroes standing up for their country, but what they don't realize is many men are wounded or killed . The painting shows the damage of the war. When I saw this picture, the first word that came into my head was "madness." It shows how insane war is . When I saw the damage, I felt that men could not have done that.. Before I always thought that war was a patriotic event, but in reality it's just a game for savages. I realize many men feel they are fighting for their country (and I am deeply grateful), but what is the outcome?   We lose courageous men in a battle of fury, children become homeless, and women wonder anxiously if their loved ones are dead or alive.

My Hobbies

The best way to clear your mind and drift away from all your problems is to write. This is exactly what I do. I guess you can say writing is my only hobby. Many people collect stamps of coins but not me. I enjoy writing even if it is a school assignment. I often come home from school exhausted and stressed out, never wanting to go back, but I change my mind as soon as I pick up a pen and start writing. I love to write all sorts of things. I even find writing letters to friends relaxing. Lately, because of finals I haven't much time to compose anything, but I still make sure that right before I go to bed, I at least write something that interests me even if it's only a sentence or two. I discovered I had a passion to write when I was in eighth grade and had an assignment to write a story about a topic that interested us. It just happened that day I went home, and I was looking through Teen People where I noticed an article about teenage pregnancy. I immediately picked up a pen and starting writing anything that came to mind. After I had read it to myself, I wanted to read it to teens everywhere and tell them to wait until they were married to the person they love. My goal was reached because I was given the opportunity to read it to the class. I hope one day I can say that writing is more that a hobby to me. It's my career!
