The Destruction

In September nature is at its fullness. The trees are blooming, and the buds are flowering.  Deep within the leaves of a tree, there is a bird, chirping away, calling its young...then war breaks out. The birds are gone, and so are the leaves on the trees. All that is left are the trunks of the trees. The once rich black soil is now dry and cracked. The brave soldier with the look of fear on his face is ready to fire from his trench. The ground is shattered along with lives by World War I.

My Hobbies

One of my hobbies is singing. I am in the alto section of the All-City High School Choir. This is my first year in the choir, but I plan to spend the next three years there with All-City. Before I joined All-City, I was in the Chorus Club in grammar school. Altogether I’ve been in choir for about six years. Singing has been a big part of my life. Three weeks ago All-City went on a trip to Toronto, Canada. I was lucky I joined. I got to compete with other high schools around the world. Next year we might even go out of the continent.
My favorite hobby is drawing. Ever since sixth grade when I won the Best Artist Award, I realized the potential I had. After that I was drawing all over. I got my mother to buy me different kinds of drawing paper and sketching pencils. Since I have started high school, I haven't had enough time to draw. The only time when I feel I have to draw is when I am really depressed. I have noticed that I draw better when I am depressed. Drawing relieves my stress and brings me into the state of tranquility. I would recommend this to anybody who is feeling sad or who just wants to have fun.
