My Angel

In my lifetime I have experienced a number of child births. The most miraculous was probably my baby sister, Alexis Nicole. Everyone has at least once experienced, or theirs is yet to come, a miracle of life. I was an only child for nine years and often helped take care of my three baby girl cousins. My cousin, Jessica Luisa, was born in 1994. In 1995 my cousin Jaqueline Emily was born. Around the time “Jackie” was born, my own mother, Ann, was five and a half months pregnant. On November 8th, 1995 my mother went into labor. It was unexpected, obviously, because she was only six months along. Her due date was January 16, 1996. On November 9th at about 9:30 a.m. Alexis Nicole, three pounds, three ounces was born. She was placed in an incubator because her lungs were so tiny she couldn’t breathe on her own.
I experienced the pain and worry of this little girl’s life. My mother was at the hospital everyday, along with my step-father to sit and watch Alexis through the incubator. We were allowed to hold her and feed her, but she couldn’t eat from a bottle, she had a small tube from her nose to her stomach to flow formula.
About a week before Christmas me pride and joy was still in the hospital, she was no longer in an incubator, but still in the preemies ward of the hospital. She began developing and eating from a bottle. My mother was told my sister wouldn’t be home for Christmas. My mother was devastated and so upset.
The 23rd of December, 1995, my mother received a phone call. The hospital had called to let her know it was possible for little Alexis Nicole to come home from the hospital. I often tell my little cousins the story of my sister's birth; they were still too young to understand. My sister came home the day before Christmas Eve and is truly my favorite Christmas present.

Reflection

The Funeral of Francis Ferdinand

This picture shows Francis Ferdinand's funeral. I chose this picture for my relfection on WWI because it shows one of the immediate causes of World War I. This is one of the major events because, if it weren't for the assasination of Francis Ferdinand, the war could have possibly been delayed or avoided.

Recommended Hobby

The hobby I recommend most is writing. I love writing. It opens a window of oppotunities for everyone. You can write short stories, poems, novels, or even newspaper articles. You can express all your ideas on paper and share your experiences in your own writing. I strongly recommend picking up this hobby if you can brainstorm and have a good imagination.
