Romeo And Juliet
Author: Shakespeare-
This story is about two teenagers who fall in love, but their families
are rivals. They go to extremes to be together. I won't give it away,
but it has a tragic ending.
Things Fall Apart
Author: Chinua Achebe-
This is a story that takes place in Africa. It tells the story of adjusting
to a world of change. It's very addictive.
Girl in the White Armor
Author: Albert Bigelow Paine-
This is the story of Joan Of Arc; a martyr. She was willing to die for
her God. She was burned at the stake because the townspeople thought of
her as a witch.
Oliver Twist
Author: Charles Dickens-
This one is almost like a fairy tale. A young, innocent person receives
the worst treatment imaginable, but then is saved by an "angel" of some
sort.
Where the Sidewalk Ends
Author: Shell Silverstein-
This is a big book, but it's easy reading. Over fifty poems are included.
These poems are targeted at children but can be read by people of all ages
if they like poetry. Highly recommended.
HOBBIES
When I have free time, which is rare, I like to listen to music. I just started listening to some new groups. I like a group called The Aquabats. They're punk rock with no vulgar language. They sing about anything and everything. For instance, one of their songs is entitled "Red Sweater." It's really cool. I also like this band called The Ataris. They play like really heavy metal. I am so excited because I'm going to their concert in the summer!
REFLECTION: World War I
This picture depicts the ruins of a town after the troops came through. Homes, businesses, schools, etc. were destroyed. In addition, families were torn apart along with memories. This picture makes me think of every picture and scrap that I save as memories. I could not imagine them being destroyed. I feel so much pity and sorrow for those caught up in the aftermath of the war.
