The Giver
by Lois Lowry
This is an amazing book. In this book, you are introduced to a world
where things
are quite different from what you are used to. The main character,
Jonas, begins
to find out everything that the community he lives in has hidden
from him his
entire life. With lots of twists and turns, everyone will love this
book.
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets
by J.K Rowling
A continuation of the first Harry Potter book,
this book adds more fun and surprises than the first and less than the
next book. You get a glimpse into Harry Potter's life once more at the
Hogwarts School Of Wizardry. Go through the journey of the school year
with Harry as he gets into trouble and discovers more about his past.
Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul II
by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Kimberly Kirberger
This is an inspiring book about people's journeys through life as
they face struggles and triumphs. There is a story for everyone about overcoming
the odds and succeeding. Once you open this book, it's hard to stop reading;
so grab some popcorn and a comfy chair and cuddle up for a night of emotional
stories.
Homecoming
by Cynthia Voight
After her mentally ill mother leaves her, her brothers, and her
sister in a car at the shopping mall, Dicey must take care of them until
they can get to their aunt's house. Sleeping in abandoned houses and begging
and fishing for food makes this journey a memorable one that is sure to
spark a few tears.
Nector in the Sieve
by Kamala Markandaya
This book illustrates what life is like for women in a small patriarchal
village in India. Rukmani, the main character, goes through many hardships.
For example, her daughter becomes a prostitute, and her husband loses the
land they live on. Life begins hard for Rukmani and just keeps getting
harder. This book takes you through her journey. It is a very good book
that you won't want to put down.

War I Archive
When I look at this picture, it reminds me of all the civilians who lost their lives during World War I. When a country goes to war, I don't think that the government thinks about all the people that will lose their lives. The first thing that stands out to me in this picture is, obviously, the dead child on the sidewalk. I realize how war affects the people that live where war is taking place. Innocent people are killed, or affected directly, either by loss of a loved one or becoming homeless and bankrupt. The war is devastating for all involved. This picture is a very powerful image.
My Hobbies
I don't really have a lot of hobbies, but there are a few things that I enjoy doing. I love to sing. If a song that I like comes on the radio or the video comes on television, no matter what I'm doing, I stop and have to sing along. I also love to dance. I'm a fast learner when it comes to learning dance routines. I just don't like to dance in front of people I don't know. Another hobby I have is I like to design fashions. Some people tell me that I should become a designer, but I tell them maybe as a side job because I don't think that my outfits are good enough for me to consider as a career.
