Video Games
When I have completed all of my chores, schoolwork, and none of
my friends are available, I play my Play Station. It is the only
thing left to do. I don’t play the game very much because it often
times gets incredibly boring. I usually just plug the game up, place
in a disk, and play until I get tired.
Hanging with my friends
I am so happy when the weekend comes around. I finally get
to hang with my friends and have fun. On the weekend, my friends
and I get together, and we entertain ourselves by going to the movies or
a party. Believe me, we do not do this every weekend, or we would
be truly tired of that routine. Still I like being with my friends
every chance I get.
FOUR Thumbs Up. I found this book to be very touching. It’s about a teenage girl around the age of fifteen. Her name is Tasha. Tasha grows up in a not- so- nice environment so it’s harder for her to make it in life. She struggles with school and personal issues with her family. Tasha also struggles with raising her young baby girl, Imani.
Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry
By Mildred Taylor
INCREDIBLE. This book focuses on racial ideas and how much racism affected Blacks during the 1930-40’s. This novel showed how hard it was to live in the South and be African-American. I know you will enjoy this novel as Mildred takes you through the life of her father, Stacy, and the rest of her family.
Holes
By Louis Sachar
MYSTERIOUS is the word for this novel. This novel is about a young boy named Stanley Yelnats. Supposedly his family is cursed. His great-great-grandfather was the one who had been placed under a curse. Stanley was mistakenly arrested for stealing shoes and sent to a detention camp, Camp Green Lake. The children there dug holes all day, every day. Why? I guess you have to read it to find out.
