Do you dream of royal characters like princes and princesses? What about magical creatures live elves and fairies? Or do you use your imagination and dream of castles and places that are magicial?
If the answer to these questions are yes , then you are "Living In A World of Fantasy".
Now come into this fantasy where dreams and magic will come alive right before your very eyes!
The purpose of this lesson is to create and write a group fantasy/fairytale story.TASK
To do this:
1. you will read a fantasy story
listed in the resource page
2. answer questions that pertain
to the elements of a fantasy/fairytale
3. do working together work sheet
(teacher will assign writing group)
4. go to process page which will
give your group instuctions on how to create a web and finally,
write the original
story.

1.Think about and decide which fantasy/fairytale
you would like to read. Choose one of these stories:
"The First Queen", "The Great Attack"
and "Sisterly Love".
Click Story
menu to find these stories.
2. Open a Microsoft Word Document to answer the following questions:
*Who are the main characters in
the story?
*Where does the story take place?
(setting)
*What is the "Magic" in the story?
*What is the good deed happening
in the story?
*What is the bad or evil deed happening
in the story. (plot)
*Is there a conflict between andy
of the characters in the story?
*How is the conflict resolved?
3. Teacher will put class in small groups, each group will do work sheet "Working Together".
4. Now that you know the elements of a good fantasy/fairytale story, make a story web for your group story. Create this story web outline by putting the name of your fantasy story in the middle of the circle in the story web. Then branch off and include circles for each element. Remember have as many details as possible , this will make your group fantasy story more interesting and exciting. Have FUN! "Living In the World of Fantasy.
5. Now your group is ready to write and publish your very own FANTASY story. Use Microsoft Word to write your story.

Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! You and your group have become a publisher and author of a Fantasy Story. As a result of this lesson on the web, you have learned about elements of a good fantasy story and applied them to your group's story.
You know how to work in a group. Congratulations to you and your group.
Please share your story with the class. The group can present them in any fashion you like, such as a skit. We will take all of the stories and create a class book of Fantasy/Fairytale stories.
